and i watched movies (part 2)

My movie craving did not stop with two movies. As what I have said in my earlier post, I watched six movies for the past days.

This post would be my reviews on: Pokemon the First Movie and Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides.

Third.
          Pokemon the First Movie
Swear I've watched this 1998 movie before, but since I'm poor in memory, I wanted to watch it again.

Pokémon the First Movie is a film dedicated to the legendary Pokémons of the first generation – Mew and Mewtwo. Scientists wanted to revive one extinct Pokémon – Mew. By the power of Science and some things I cannot understand, they created another Pokémon. They were so happy to have created a clone of Mew but since they have advanced whatever there, this Pokémon was bigger, better, and can actually speak and can actually critically think. This Pokémon named Mewtwo raged so bad. He thought that he was born without a purpose. Then, he destroyed that lab. He came to realize that his role in this world is to be the master of everyone. So he called on the best of the best trainers including Ash and the gang.

However, after those cloning, and those fights, and those tears of the Pokémon which lead to Ash’s healing, Mewtwo came to know his purpose in life. He came to know that Pokémons and humans are meant to live together. He became this good Pokémon again and together with Mew and other Pokémons, they went to another place.

It was only now that I’ve realized that the plot of the movie is kind of shallow, in my opinion though. Although I am a Pokémon fan and I love Pokémons, and I love this movie,  I just think they made the plot seriously. One instance is Mewtwo’s abrupt change in attitude. I mean, really? That fast? Another thing. Ash wouldn’t be that stupid enough to go in the middle of the battle of two legendary Pokémons and risk his life. Another thing. Pokémons’ cry can heal? I really don’t get it.

Anyway, since I love Pokémons, they’re forgiven. For now.

I actually got two quotes from the movie itself.

you're right, we do have a lot in common; the same earth, the same air, the same sky. maybe if we started looking at what's  same instead of always looking at what's different, then who knows.

it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Fourth.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

It was one boring day. I do not know what to do really so I settled in watching yet another movie.

This time, I settled for a modern one. This 4th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean was only released last year so this is the freshest of the four movies I've watched.

I know I have watched the first three movies but I cannot remember the plot already. Scenes from those movies are in my head but I can't already picture the plot, so, nevermind.

This movie talked about three different expeditions to the Fountain of Youth: the English lead by Barbossa wanted to beat the Spanish conquistadors; Blackbeard's expedition wherein Jack Sparrow was; and the Spanish who went there to destroy the fountain, believing that only God can grant the fountain of youth.

The movie was exhilarating, from the effects, to the actors, and the production, not to mention plot. However, I find this movie different from the first three movies. I know there's a new director (Rob Marshall) but still, this is different. First difference is that, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley were not there. There were more scenes on ships and expeditions, and there were new characters. However, amidst these new things, Johnny Depp's performance as Jack Sparrow really gave the whole movie a great deal. He is good in acting as always and there is no question to that.

Since there's a new everything, there is a possibility of a 5th installment two to three years from now. I bet a new characters will appear, with a better plot.
