And so I made an English translation of that song from the Korean show, "You're Beautiful." Let me tell you, I don't speak Korean, and I just based these from all the literal English Translations I've read.

To tell you the truth, the lyrics, now translated into the way I wanted, is something relateable to me now. There's this connection to this song which is quite surprising because I don't know how. I just feel connected to the lyrics now that I've read it carefully. Maybe because of my situation right now. Perhaps.

Everybody has a Dream

Billy Joel sang, "Everybody has a Dream; and this is my dream, my own: just to be at home and to be all alone with you."

I recently heard this song from Jessica Sanchez when she sang this on American Idol this week where she was applauded very well. I got instantly hooked up with her rendition that I downloaded her performance and listened to it over and over again. Imagine, it's only been the third day since I downloaded it but I already played it 54 times -- more than the other songs I've been listening to for months. It's probably because Jessica has been my favorite idol up to date and every performance is stellar. This performance is just -- as Randy Jackson said -- perfection.

Home of the Blues

February's ending. I thought, this love month is ending and not a single love post was ever posted here. I could have written anything about love, but I was waiting for the write time to talk about them. I was about to convince myself yesterday to write something about this month's celebration, suddenly, a tweet came, which changed my whole night forever.

The tune was very catchy, I guarantee you will repeat the whole song over and over again. The lyrics were so overwhelming, it goes through your inner core.The singer is very good, in fact, I'm one of his biggest fans. What's not to love about the song?

With euphoria in me yesterday, I wrote this on my blog not knowing that it sounds immature and childish, "I listened to this song once but I was instantly hooked up that I need to listen to this song everyday!" I do not know what I was thinking about yesterday but my head my so high it's like I took drugs. But yeah, what I said there was true. I was quickly enticed by this song which made me listen to it over and over again. It went to the point of downloading it and yes, it became my lullaby for the night. When I woke up, my iPod was still playing the song -- it's on repeat.

 Adam Young posted in his blog this song entitled, "Home of the Blues." 

To my surprise, I've discovered that it was only a cover of a Johnny Cash original. (yeah. It took me minutes to finally realize  what that Cash is written on his blog, and it's Johnny Cash.). According to Wikipedia, this song was written by Cash  about his unhappy childhood. Maybe, just maybe, Adam Young did connect to this song so much that he made his third cover of any song (the first was Enchanted by Taylor Swift and the second was the First Noel).

I wait for another great song of Adam Young. The last released one was Eternity which he collaborated with Paul van Dyk. I also discovered that there is an upcoming album of Owl City this year, I can't wait for it.

Right now, let this song sing me to sleep again, big time!

Still You

I adore this Filipino music from the 80s. It's heartfelt, emotional, and worth selling to the international scene. It's entitled, "Ikaw pa rin," by Ted Ito. There's no song like this airing the local music industry nowadays. Honestly, in my opinion, many opinions suck already. Others are mere corny covers of some of the greatest songs and some would end up destroying them.

Why can't all OPM songs be like this? I don't know.

Revolution

So I am tasked to make a song. The theme of this song is somewhat general in nature, but in the path of caring for the environment. I'm still on the process of arranging the song, and changing some lyrics of the song. I'm so focused to this song because it's going to be contested nationally! Imagine that.

So the tentative title of this song is, "The Revolution." The italicized lines are still on the process of revisions. The tune is almost done, but, revisions may take place.

A wrapped up Year end Report

Okay, this year has been a very fruitful one. There has been many euphoric moments as there are also dysphoric moments (let's include the whatever moments. hahaha). Let's wrap up this year 2011 with things to remember for the rest of my goddamn life.

I hope this would become my yearly tradition as I end a year.

More than a Child

So I learned a very magical song. It's not like any Christmas songs out there. The tune is very heartwarming and very gentle, soothing to the ears and to the mind. The lyrics are, as the composer said, about Jesus' birth in relation to the reason He came. Ever since I've heard it when we had our practice, I was like mesmerized by it so I actually searched it on YouTube and found one video with the composer singing it. Great! Tis' my favorite Christmas song already and since today is Christmas, I thought of sharing this song.

That video is Larry Holder singing More than a Child, the title of the song. Listen to it carefully and be amazed! Here are the lyrics:

Hey, Merry Christmas by the way.

Let us not forget the sole reason why we celebrate Christmas: JESUS.  As John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Jesus was sent to us because God loves us really much and He wants us to be saved from the wrath of evil. And so He was born, in a lowly manger. And as John 1:14 says, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." 

This day must not be used for enjoyment but in celebrating for God's love and for Christ's birth.

Back to December

I always hated this song. I don't know why, but I never really had this liking for this Taylor Swift song. While it is true that I am a fan of Taylor Swift, this song was never in my playlist. When it's going to be played anywhere, I would either change the song, the channel, or go somewhere wherein this music would not be played. Maybe because I was not used to listening Taylor Swift that way or maybe because it was not December when it was released as a single.

But when I got the chance to read the lyrics of the song, I grew to like it to the point that I started singing it almost always. What struck me most first was the chorus which says:

This is me swallowing my pride standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night and I go back to December all the time.

Are You Lonesome Tonight

I have always been a fan of old music. I have always idolized those of Frank Sinatra, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Dolly Parton. There is something in their voices which many modern artists lack. It’s more of emotionally singing from deep inside their hearts that makes me fall in love with their voices. It’s the emotion of the song that makes me listen to them more. Of course I also am a fan of some modern artists (especially to Owl City and Coldplay), but there is still something different from those of the oldies.

I appreciate the people who cover the old songs but they give justice to it. Michael Buble is one. He covers many old songs but he never changes the genre. He sticks to the old ones. I have recently watched the show, The Glee Project and many of them cover songs and give rightful justice to the songs they cover. One song which I really idolized is the song Are You Lonesome Tonight sung by many artists like Frank Sinatra but in the show, was sung by Damian McGinty. He really sang it very well and good. For that short span of time, you can really feel his emotions running deep. Another song is Baby, It’s Cold Outside sung by many artists including Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan, but sung in the competition by Cameron Mitchell and Lindsay Pearce. The song was very witty and happy, and they did not destroy it. They performed it well that the one minute span allotted for them was not enough for me. I crave for the whole song to be sung from them. There are also many songs from the competition which they gave justice. There are also many singers who perform these smash hits that I give them 5 stars for a job well done. Yes. Old music is not dead.

While there are people who try their best to keep this music perfect, there are some singers who destroy the perfect songs from the past. I don’t know why they do it, maybe for popularity? In the music section of the show business, some singers cover songs but they completely destroy the song, but still, people dig it. I don’t know why. Some would say that these covers are better than the original. WHAT?! I know. How did they destroy it? They put some inappropriate beats and runs, they sing over, and etcetera.

I know, I listen to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and the like, but I tell you, no one can deny the fact that Andy Williams, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra, and the like are mesmerizing and will live on forever! Cheers to the Music Industry.

And ohh, for my love of oldies, and Cameron Mitchell's influence, I'm learning to play Black Bird by Beatles now! :D

DoDoDo

I’m addicted to a song. But the problem is, I can’t sing it. Not that it’s too high. I can always change the pitch. It’s the lyrics of the song which I can’t understand. I’ve been searching around the whole internet world the lyrics of this song, but I just cannot. Yeah, depressing.

I devised a plan. I would try to listen to the song over and over and over again so that I would get the lyrics and write it down. The problem is that, there are many vague words. And the song is too fast for me to handle, which leaves me puzzled.

It’s mesmerizing to love a song which you can’t understand the lyrics, right? Hahaha. Well, for the record, this is the first OPM song I liked. Promise! Primarily, the reason behind that is that, it does not sound corny and pathetic. It’s not those trying hard copy cat songs of other lame Filipino singers out there who does nothing but to make awful covers of smashing hits. This one’s original. It’s fresh. It is like internationally made! When I first heard of this, I was like electrocuted.  “Is this really a Filipino original?” I said to myself. It was like an international record! Good job, fellow person!

The genre is like Owl City, another reason why I was hooked up with the song. The name of the band is Somedaydream. He’s a one-man band like Owl City, but unlike the latter, Somedaydream only has a few originals. Some covers are worth listening because it’s like his original songs! Electro! Woohoo!

Anyway, the title of the song is, “Do Do with You.” If anyone could give me the lyrics, I would very much appreciate you! :D

I fell in love the moment I heard her voice.


She's a beauty. Her voice, her smile, her face, her everything! I don't know what to say more. She's one of a kind princess. She captured my heart with her voice. Right now, I'm listening to her sing the songs of the greatest band in the whole world. Whoa. I hope she'll get more famous than the singers out there who doesn't even know how to sing. I hope she'll get more famous than the idols of today.
